Why Membership?

Please consider becoming a member of St. Vartan. Why? We need you. St. Vartan and the Canadian Diocese needs you every day. St. Vartan is your church community, your Christian family. We love and care for one another and worship God together. Each one of our members is a blessing, created in God’s own image. Together, we learn from and help one another on our spiritual journey.

As a member, there is personal satisfaction gained in declaring your commitment to the Armenian Apostolic Church. You are saying: I believe in my church, I belong to this Christian family of believers, I support its beliefs and the work of the Canadian Diocese to maintain our Christian faith and Armenian culture and heritage. With your membership, you are contributing to the operation of the Diocesan and St. Vartan websites and Christian worship and education efforts.

As a member, you gain the privilege of voting for parish council and committee members at St. Vartan’s annual general meeting and you may run for office. As well, our members receive discounts and other benefits at church events, as determined by the parish council.

Please find the membership form for St. Vartan Armenian Church of Mississauga on the NOTICES page. The annual church membership fee is $100 per family and $60 per individual. To update your membership and pay your annual membership dues now, please forward your cheque and the completed form to:

St. Vartan Armenian Church SUNDAY SCHOOL



During Sunday Badaraks

Held at St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church, 1541 Oakhill Dr. Oakville, Ontario.

Check the church website for Badarak dates or call Very Rev. Fr. Hayrik Hovhannisyan at 905-916-1886.

Badarak themes taught to the children in both English and Armenian through crafts, stories, plays and games. Children join in a short segment of the Badarak during Holy Communion.

Ages 3 to 12.

Older youth are welcome as volunteers (community service credits are offered).

No cost to attend ... come any Sunday ... a small monetary donation ($0.25 to $1) may be made by the children during candle lighting each week which will go to the Sunday School Fund for supplies.

Where will your ad be seen?
Your advertisement will be inserted in St. Vartan's Tertig, which is distributed at each Soorp Badarak. Each Tertig contains religious education, requiem information and news about past-present-and-future St. Vartan community events. The ads are also shared with those unable to attend our church services. As of last March, the Tertig was sent out electronically as a pdf to over 240 of our faithfulwho receive our news via email. Your ad will also be sent out during the church year, with church mailings to the 500 names on our mailing list.

What does it cost?
Cost for each advertising space (approx. 6 1/4 cm x 3 cm) from September to June end is $200. You can experience the satisfaction of knowing your advertising dollars help support the cost of St. Vartan's Tertig and church mailings to our faithful.

Niche market of how many families?
St. Vartan serves a niche market of over 500 Armenian families living in Mississauga, Oakville, Brampton, Etobicoke and Milton. It is a growing population and new names are always being added to our mailing list. We hope you will forward your ad and support St Vartan's communication committee in its ongoing efforts to keep us all informed.
